Waterproof kitchen & bathroom floors
LVT & vinyl flooring in Ilford
LVT (luxury vinyl tile) is a 100% waterproof rigid-core floor that suits kitchens, bathrooms and busy family rooms. We also fit tile-effect vinyl, like the grey floor in our recent kitchen job. See samples in our shop at 6 Spurway Parade, Ilford IG2 6UU, or book a free measure.

Starting prices. The final price depends on size and condition; we measure for free and quote in writing. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added to our labour; where a price says “+ VAT”, that is the VAT our supplier charges on the materials, passed on at cost.
LVT or vinyl: what is the difference?
LVT comes as individual planks or tiles with a rigid core, so it looks and feels closer to real wood or stone. Sheet vinyl comes off a roll, which means fewer joints in a small room and a lower cost. Both are good choices where floors get wet. LVT is usually the better long-term floor, while vinyl suits rentals, utility rooms and simple kitchens.
Why choose LVT for kitchens and bathrooms
- Waterproof: spills and splashes do not swell the boards, as they can with wood-based floors.
- Warm and quiet: it feels warmer and softer underfoot than ceramic tile.
- Easy to clean: a sweep and a damp mop is enough for everyday cleaning.
- Looks: oak and stone effects give a natural look without the upkeep.
How much does LVT flooring cost?
LVT is £26.60 per m² + VAT, which is £31.92 per m² inc VAT, for the flooring. Fitting is quoted after a free measure, because the price depends on the room shape, the condition of the subfloor and how many cuts are needed around units, pipes and door frames. Bathrooms often take longer per square metre than open rooms, because there is more cutting around the toilet and basin.
Subfloor preparation
Vinyl floors show what is underneath them, so the base must be smooth, dry and sound. Timber floors may need boarding to give a flat surface. Concrete floors are checked for moisture and smoothed with levelling compound if needed. Preparation is often what separates a floor that lasts from one that fails, so we include it in the quote where it is needed.
Pairing a new floor with a new room
Flooring is often part of a bigger job. We also fit new kitchens and new bathrooms, so one team can plan the units, the plumbing and the floor in the right order.
Looking after LVT and vinyl
Sweep or vacuum to remove grit, then clean with a damp mop and a mild floor cleaner. Avoid steam mops unless the maker of your floor approves them. Use felt pads under furniture and protect the floor when moving appliances.
